My Experience and Expertise
I founded NTTW Consulting to provide holistic tech strategy guidance, particularly related to artificial intelligence. As a PhD Engineer, I've spent the last 15 years shaping, advising, and leading technology development in fields ranging from aviation to healthcare, for industry and for government. I've advised investment and policy in AI and autonomy at senior levels and sat on committees shaping research on everything from the mind and brain to missile defense. During my time at General Electric Global Research and then the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) I led development of AI-enabled tools, extended reality testbeds, engine components, and technology evaluation and forecasting frameworks. I served as a university professor for 7 years and have given countless AI talks and sessions for everyone from engineers to lawyers to Admirals. My experience with the Boston Consulting Group, along with my time supporting GE businesses and time as a Program Manager and advisor for government investment while at JHU/APL, allows me to speak fluently to business needs and realities. I've seen that most bad investment, development, and policy decisions come from an inability to effectively communicate technical realities and business/policy needs across communities. Unrealistic expectations are placed on technology, and technology is developed that doesn't meet needs. Nobody wins when nobody communicates effectively. Given my technical expertise (I was part of the Principal Professional Staff at JHU/APL) and experience with policy development and investment decision-making, I founded NTTW Consulting to close gaps across communities and help everyone understand the difference between story and substance.
